The item from SMOTD for this week’s for Stumblebum is a dark version of The Raspberry Whine dress, except it doesn’t come with a boa, it comes with a tarantula which fits nicely as an eye patch.
oooh.. creepy.
This tarantula is disturbingly realistic looking.
Coordinating nicely with this dark dress are skin, hair and jewelry from the Snow White Hunt. This hunt has some suitable dark prizes — Snow White is after all, a dark story that involves murder, jealousy, and deception.
Shown below are a few items from the Hunt, Skin from u.f.o., hair from CriCri, and jewelry from Frippery.

I’ve admired the artwork of Eshi Otawara since before she left SL, and I’m so glad she decided to come back to designing some of the most advant-garde clothes in the virtual world. How avant-garde? Look here for a beautiful example, and some absolutely stunning photographs.
The outfit on the left is a thank you gift from Eshi Otawara for advertising her shop in your picks. The hairstyle and skin are shown in greater detail above. This skin , Alt Geisha, is a free gift from Frick. I strongly suggest a visit to Frick, you’ll find tons of quirky alternative skins for low, low prices. The hairstyle from Boon, while not free, finishes the look perfectly.
On the right is a lucky chair win from House of RFyre. The Eterna ensemble for women is superbly crafted, as all are all House of RFyre products.
From Djinn & Tonic (very cute name!) comes the Tears of Blood skin, a prize in the Zombie Popcorn Hunt. The eyes were one of the gifts sent out to ZPH group members. The lovely Sugarplum Hairstyle (previously blogged) is from Vita’s Boudoir.
Shown above in full-out fairy gear, Shang is wearing the Stumblebum item for this week from SMOTD. The Tear Pool dress is a limited edition, and costs only 50L$, so don’t wait too long to pick it up! The boa is included with the dress. It’s a light, ethereal look when paired with shoes from Ingenue (MM win!), hair from W&Y (gift), and Cabal skin (cygnet, 50% off sale) from House of Ruin. The beautiful wings are from Material Squirrel complete the fairy look. If you haven’t been to Material Squirrel lately, stop by to check out their new lucky chairs.
Shown above is a close up of the delicate Cabal skin in Cygnet, from House of Ruin. Btw, the hairstyle from W&Y.. colour change!

Here are some more prizes form the Gother Than Thou Hunt.
You did get in the group last week I hope, because the Gother Than Thou Hunt is proving to be one of the better hunts the grid has seen in the couple years I’ve been here. Even if you didn’t get to join The Thrifty Goth group before the cut-off date, hop around to some of the hunt shops listed in The Thrifty Goth blog. Many of these shops also have MM, lucky chairs, gifts, etc.. you you can still have some fun freebie shopping.
I’ve discovered some great new-to-me shops, some with great neighboring shops on the same sim, some new-to-me gothic galleries with original artwork. It’s good to see so many other retailers displaying their real life artwork in their Second Life retail shops.
This soft pale skin is from The Thrifty Goth group members, the posture collar is the Gother Than Thou Hunt prize from Favole, it comes with a hat that I haven’t shown here. This posture collar goes so well with so many of the Hunt gifts, you’ll see me wearing it a lot.
These cute outfits areTill Death Do Us Part, from PinkMares House (on the left), and Amelia, from Blue Blood (on the right). I love that most of these clothes are mix-and-match. Boots shown above are from GField, and are not included in the hunt.
The hairstyle is from Crimson + Clover, a great, gory skin is included in the gift box, but I haven’t shown it.
The Loss, from SMOTD, it a true Gothic gown. I can picture some young heroine wearing exactly this gown in a gothic mystery. You can see that posture collar from Favole again.. see?.. it goes great with pretty much everything.
Just remember, you won’t be able to get the Hunt prizes if you aren’t wearing a The Thrifty Goth group tag.

I’d blog the great hunt finds in this post even if they weren’t hunt finds, stuff from SMOTD and Grim Bros is the stuff I like to wear for my normal daytime look.
When I was younger I played with Barbies. I admit it. I played with Barbies. But Barbies are weird, there’s nothing you can really do with them except change their clothes. So that’s what I did with barbies. I changed their clothes. Constantly.
And, dirty little secret here, that’s what I do with Shang in SL. I change her clothes. Constantly.
You have to love everything Grim Bros. I pop in there so often just to look, and I was delighted to see the No Strings Attached Hunt sign on a recent visit.
Whee!
The girly, gothy, dollie dress is a veritable dessert of lace, gathers, and ribbons. If you like Grim bros clothes at all, you’ll love it. So go get it. Now.
The glittery lonely stage shown in this post is the No Strings Attached Hunt gift from SMOTD. This Hunt prize from SMOTD has two dancer poses, and what girl doesn’t love pretending to be a ballerina on stage? The No Strings Attached hunt runs through the end of August, so you have lots of time to check the hunt website.
The skin shown (Kiria – Bliss – Purple) is from F’d Up, which is also participating in the No Strings Attached Hunt. The skin shown is not the hunt skin, but a Midnight Mania win.
It always seemed like fun until someone ended up getting hurt.
On the observer: Suit – Arundel – Zachary Gentlemen’s Costume.
On the victim: Pieces from Basque Corset, and Boot’s and Leathers. Belt is from Phoenix Design & Firefall.
It had been a whirlwind romance, two adventurous souls had found one another and had become inseparable. But for at least one of them, it just wasn’t enough.
He liked to flirt.. a lot.
It didn’t much matter if it was a barmaid in a pub, a local wench trying to make a couple dollars to buy her next bottle, or some mysterious beauty of the deep seas.
On him: Fashions from Dany’s French Touch.
On her: Le Cirque de la Maladie Skirt from *SMOTD, Doll Horns from !Rotten Toe, Hair from Arundel, skin from Domestic-V.
He loved them all, and they loved him
On him: Hair from Joli Fem.
On the sirena: Mermaid tail from aeNigma (Steampunk Hunt Prize), hair from Tekeli-li, skin from den Dou.
They’d had it out one day, and their argument could be heard out of the indoor dock where she kept her ship, and into the street. She was furious, and wanted him to stop his philandering ways.
It was quite a rowe they’d had, we were worried that it might come to actual blows.
On him: Suit – Arundel – Zachary Gentlemen’s Costume
On her: various pieces from Arundel’s, belt from Phoenix Design & Firefall.
So, you see, it was quite natural that we’d suspected him of doing her in, their fights had become quite the talk about town. We didn’t learn till later.. much later.. that it had been the wench all along.
She’d been the one with the most to gain and the least to lose; besides.. it wasn’t the first time she’d committed murder.

Shang had wanted to join the circus for as long as she could remember. She’d always been enthralled by the exotic animals there, the smells..
and my god!.. the performers who got to travel the world and who performed in front of audiences of kings and queens! How exciting!
And then, of course, there was always the midway with it’s games and rides.
But the real reason she loved the circus so much, and the reason most go to the circus, was for the freak show. Though most people would never admit to it, everyone likes to gawk at those who are just a little different.
