Fantasy Faire is in Full swing, and there is so much to see, so much to do.. and oh mai goshen… so much good stuff to buy!
If you love high fantasy at all, this is the one RFL event you must attend!

Margaret Heliosense, owner and designer of the products from Swing’s Paradise Furnishings, has put several items up for auction at Fantasy Faire. When you purchase an auction item, your purchase price is donated to Relay for Life, and helps the American Cancer Society find a cure for cancer. To find out more about the live auctions, consult the Fantasy Faire 2012 Blog.

The cute sale carts shown above and below are auction items. Bid once, but make it a high bid, because other people will be bidding for these too, and you don’t want to have it snatched out form under you at the last moment! There are two in the package, and I can see them hooked up ala gypsy caravan filled with tempting goodies for unwary passers-by. Too cute!

Wow! This is one B I G Tree House!
And the Big Tree House (shown in the next three pictures) features a bath, two platforms, a roomy hut, and a cute little bed with leaves to cover you and keep you all snug at night.
I drew a circle around Shang to give you an idea of the scale. See that little person inside the yellow circle? Yep, that’s Shang.

Fantasy Faire is my favourite relay for Life event in Second Life. This is a time fantasy themed merchants and builders pull together and put off all the stops to bring you the biggest, best gathering of fantasy merchants in Second Life.. or anywhere. The sims are always dazzling, the products offered are out of this world (literally), and where else can you go to see all the different races and species of Second Life gathered for one event?

This year, Fantasy Faire will run from Saturday 21 April through Sunday 29 April, 2012. Thousands of Second Life residents and creators will come together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.  Nine Second Life sims will be transformed into the Fairelands, a fantasy continent created to host Fantasy Faire 2012, to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life (RFL of SL).

The Fantasy Faire 2012 is made possible by the generous support of Sim and Event Sponsors: Arcanum, Booshies, Epic Toy Factory, Fallen Gods Inc., NeoStreams, Rustica, –= Solarium =–, The Looking Glass, T R I D E N T, and Vaengi Wings.

Are you or a loved one battling cancer?  Find out how many ways the American Cancer Society is there to help.  Visit cancer.org or call (US) 800-ACS-2345.

Mer-Elf Creations has been providing the citizens of Second Life quality medieval themed, fantasy, and mermaid clothing and gear for longer than almost any other designer on the grid. Creator Morgaine Price has created a niche for herself in this genre , and Mer-Elf Creations line of products just keeps growing and getting better!

For Fantasy Faire, Morgaine has pulled together this great Kingyo goldfish tail. There is another part to this tail available at Fantasy Faire as well. See the photos below.

The add-on package for Kingyo (purchased separately) is perfect for those times your mer is feeling a little under the weather. This tail has pieces that look like Ick. If you’ve ever had aquarium fish, you probably know what Ick looks like. The add-on is perfect for role playing situations, I can see a quest being built around finding the ingredients to make a cure for the Ick.

All of the gowns shown in this post, including the lovely Maelynn, shown below, are available at Mer-Elf Creations’ Fantasy Faire location. To see more designs, plan to visit the Mer-Elf Creations main shop at Vanity Fayre.

Shhhh.. Morgaine was a little late putting her Fantasy Faire booth together. She claims “real life” got in the way. Hah! We know she was really out frolicking with elves and mermaids, gathering great ideas for future products.

Anyway, she’s going to be locked away in the fantasy Faire lock-up on Friday, and she’ll have to stay there until we pull together enough L$ to bail her out. Oh no! You know what that means! No more great fantasy designs until she is out of jail.

Here’s how you can help: Pull together all your friends, and your friends’ friends and gather up as many L$ as you can so that we can bribe her evil prison guard to set her free!

Shown above is May Queen in lavender. This gown comes in an appropriately spring-like collection of colours, buy one, buy them all! The pretty flower wreath is included with the gown, and it’s colour change!

Below is She-urt, in green.  This dress comes with a free-woman version included in the pack. Not sure what a free-woman or a she-urt is? Read the Gor books by John  Norman to find out.

The she-urt version includes scripted scrolls so that you can add your own message. The free-woman gown includes a modesty veil, something no self-respecting free-woman would ever be seen in public without.. lest she become a she-urt.

I wrote a little about Lost in Starnight just before Fantasy Faire began, and the good news is that you can still find some great bargains at their Faire location.. and some really unique mer avatars as well!

Shown above is that free tail I blogged earlier, but look how great it looks on Hawk too! I love that mer tails are unisex, add a top and it’s for a girl, take the top off and it’s for a guy. Of course, guys love the topless look on girls too.

The totally awesome mer avatar shown above has drawn lots of comments, as you can well imagine. As I explained to one person, “The shark was hot on my tail, and I dodged right when I should have dodged left.. and that was all she wrote.”

The Ghost Mer avatar comes complete with two skeletal buddies, all for a ridiculously low price. Need a costume for a party? Or maybe for Halloween? This is a real conversation piece!

The beautiful tail shown above is a prize in the Fantasy Faire Hunt. Look for turquoise ribbons, and buy it for the price shown on inspection. The Navy Tail is an underwater dream.. for only 25 L$. If you need a starter tail, this one is an excellent choice at a very low price. Hint:  You’ll find it in the Lost in Starnight Fantasy Fair Shop.

Goldenstar Sands, of  Safe Waters has been designing mermaid tails in Second Life for years now, and is well known in the world of merfolk. The name Safe Waters means “It’s alright to feel comfortable here. I want someone to walk into my shop and feel comfortable and secure in what they find here.”

For Fantasy Faire this year, Goldenstar brings out two of her best selling tails from last year’s Fantasy Faire, The Fantasy Fan Yukata ensembles, as well as some Tang tails in blue, achilles, and yellow.

If you missed the Festival Fan Kimono and Yukata last year and have been kicking yourself ever since, you’ll be delighted to know that you can pick them up this year.

The Fantasy Fan Tails, shown above, are donation items, with proceeds from sales of these sets going to benefit Relay for Life. The tail part of these sets includes two versions: one a fairly traditional mertail, and the other including a Kimono top as shown in the Black and red version above.

This tail is beautiful, featuring an overall flower design against a solid background. A kimono for dry land is included so that you are ready to walk out of the water and onto the shore when you meet the prince of your dreams.

All of the special kiosk items are donation items at Fantasy Faire, with a portion of  proceeds from sales of these items going to help support Relay for Life.. and sometimes a “portion” means that 100% of your purchase price is donated by the designer. So, you get an awesome product, and relay for Life gets the money you’ve spent. It’s a great deal all the way around!

The Tang series of mer tails include versions for adult males, adult females, and children. You can coordinate the entire family with size and gender appropriate tails. The Tang tails are good, basic tails to start with, and include an AO in the package of tails.

If you want a mermaid or mermaid that’s a little different (or maybe a lot different), hit up Tekeli-li at Fantasy Faire for some tails in exclusive colours that will only be available during Fantasy Faire.

These are not just tails, but full avatars. Everything you see, except the shape, is included. Although I’ve used my own shape in this photo, a shape is included in the package too, but I wanted to show you that even your own shape will work nicely with the prim parts that make up this avatar.

The avatar series, Deep Ones, by Tekeli-li, is based on real fish. Above and below I’ve shown the female Sailfish in Violet, a colour exclusive to Fantasy Faire.

There are other colours available for both the Sailfish, shown above, in Tekeli-li’s main shop.

The Koi avatar is a fanciful, playful avatar in pretty aqua and cream that you can get only at Fantasy Faire. Again, there are more colour version available in the main shop, and I do recommend stopping by to see all the Deep Ones.

Tempt has been a leader in mer gear for a while now, I remember visiting the shop for the first time before the shop moved to its current location – the tails were a breath of fresh air; so airy.. so ethereal.

They’re beautiful tails.

I’ve blogged TenpT a couple times before, and have never been disappointed with the products I’ve received, even free and hunt gifts are of the best quality and design.

Here’s a look at some of the other products from TempT:
TempT Me
More Crazy Hair and Mermaid Tails

The Sienna Tail in Gold, shown above, and the Jayla Merskin, shown below, are the donation kiosk items form TempT. The Sienne Tail is wonderful. This is a fairy-like tail.. it moves and shimmrs in the water; a play of light that is entrancing to watch.

Just look at the Jayla Merskin! No mermaid or merman should have to swim about in boring skins, give us something exciting.. different.. give us colour! We love colour in tails, in gems, in our furnishings and homes.. and TempT gives us some skins with gorgeous colour.

Though my photo didn’t pick it up, this skin has a hint of subtle scaling that is perfect for tails. Try a demo at the shop, then buy the skin at Fantasy Fair. Your purchase price helps to fund Relay for Life, and you can’t get a better deal than that anywhere.

Are you ready?

The RFL Fantasy Faire starts in just a few days, and will run from Saturday April 2nd to Sunday April 10th 2011.  There will be seven sims of Fairy, Elven, Magic, Mermaid, Goth, Demon, Vamp, Neko, Micro, Steampunk, Sci-Fi and more including fantasy landscaping and appearance such as skin & hair! All available for you to peruse for a full week of fun and shopping goodness.

Sims are named as shown below, and I’ll update with URL’s a little closer to the opening date because they’re being built, no one besides the builders  have access right now anyway, and it’s Top Secret.

But be prepared to be absolutely blown away!

Themed Stores:

I simply adore fantasy themed clothing and accessories, so when Kendall Dagger, of SpellBound, sent a swag bag filled with her RFL items, I couldn’t wait to open it.

To my delight, it contained two SpellBound RFL items. I’ve blogged SpellBound RFL vendor items for the RFL Clothing Fair, but I’m going to tell you about them again.. just as a reminder.

Siren, shown above, was available at the RFL Clothing Fair. If you missed it, you’ll be happy to know that you can still pick it up while donating to a worthy cause. You can find it in the RFL vendors placed in the center of SpellBound.

Bribe is a very feminine blouse that comes with a matching neclace and hair ornament. This RFL vendor item is a limited time offer, and will disappear from the shop at the conclusion of RFL. If you haven’t picked it up, you might want to consider doing so before it’s taken down and packed away forever.

Heidi is currently in one of the RFL vendors at the SpellBound Fantasy Faire booth. Every single L$ spent on this lovely gown goes to Relay For Life and supports cancer research. A modesty jacket is included for Gorean free-women.

If silks are more your style, Summer (shown below) is perfect for you.

These beautiful silks are perfect for Fae folk too! The lovely flowered garland is included, but you’ll have to find your own wings (or buy them at the Fantasy Faire).

Both Heidi and Summer will be available in RFL vendors at the conclusion of the Fantasy Faire, just head over to SpellBound if you aren’t able to make it to the Faire.

If you want to try SpellBound clothing before you make a purchase, Kendall Dagger has graciously set out a free gift for you at counter in her shop. Cotton Candy is as sweet as the real life confection.. and perfect for a fairy lass. The dress comes in several length and opacity options. Wings are not included, but you can use those wings you picked up at the Fantasy Faire.   ;)
