The expo is to benefit the Marine Toys for Tots foundation, which you can read about here: http://www.toysfortots.org/

Last year’s Footwear Expo was to benefit the ASPCA and ran from July 12 – 27, 2008. We raised $3000 CAD for the cause. This year’s event will benefit Toys for Tots and we hope to totally blow that $$ out of the water this year!

The event will run from November 22 through December 6, 2009. Over 50 Shoe Designers from across the grid will be showcasing their creations (some with new items introduced at the expo!) and helping to sponsor and support the benefit. In addition there will be a fashion show, musical entertainment, a photography contest and exhibit, a huge raffle, and a massive blow-out party at the end of the Expo.

Expect lag and dress appropriately.

I love the jewelry at P/a! I’ve been a fan since before I tried to hunt down a little tartan top hat I’d blogged quite a while back.

The jewelry at P/a is some of the most beautifully made in Second Life; the designs are exquisite, and the craftsmanship flawless. Look at the most recent gift to P/a group members.

Really, are any further words about this set necessary? The delicious skin is a midnight mania win from Burning Chrome. What’s not to love about dewy, kissable lips like these?

Not to be outdone, Whonose has not one, not two, but three gifts for us.

I’ve shown two of the gifts above. The Emi Outfit in Royal and Night , shown on the left is a lucky board win, on the right Sanna is the most recent gift to subscribo members. As if that’s not enough, WhoNose also has a blue version of the Sanna Outfit for sale in the shop at only 10L$ AND there’s the wonderful Auni gown in a beautiful shade of blue violet is tucked away inside the midnight mania board.

Whew, that’s a lot of goodies for you in this post.

With a name like McSkin, you probably thought I was going to talk about free skins. Although McSkin does have tons of cute Japanese style skins, there are also a handful of great outfits for sale in the shop, and some of them are absolutely free.

The dress on the left and in the center  cost 0L$, the one on the right is a group gift. There is also a lucky board, but no “S” this time.

Just walking into The Crystal Queendom takes my breath away. The gowns by Livinglight Yiyuan are every Christmas Barbie’s dream. These dresses and gowns are so opulent, so extravagant, that every single one is like something a fairy tail princess would wear.

Little Princess, shown above makes me feel so girly. It’s a delicious confection of golds and pinks.. perfect for a stroll through Callie Cline’s Winter Wonderland. It’s only 10L$ for a limited time, so hurry over so that you don’t miss this great bargain!

If you’d rather glide along across the frozen trails, try the Winter Rose Skate set from Lemania Indigo Designs. This set (which includes the ice skates) will be available on Sunday, as part of the 60L$ Sundays sales blitz. If you love this sweet skating set, you’d better grab it while it’s on sale.

Leezu has amazing clothes that are truly works of art. These are, without exception, the kinds of clothes you see on the RL fashion runway.

Yesterday, I was pleased to receive a pretty red scarf from Leezu because the group has reached, get this 7000 members! There is a wonderful gift in the works for the 10000 mark, so please, go join Leezu’s group!

The pretty red sweater dress I’m wearing is from House of Beningborough. This dress is free at the main shop location, so if you love this dress as much as I do, hurry over to pick it up before it goes back up in price. While you’re at Leezu’s and House of Beningborough, don’t forget to look around for other great deals on fantastic fashions.

Lately I’ve been loving the short hairstyle shown above, which is from Vignette. All hairstyles from Vignette are currently free. Get one, get them all.. but don’t forget to leave a little something in the till.

As a special thanks to their valued customers, RFyre is having a hunt. The elves of RFyre have placed 5 pieces each of the women’s Alona and the men’s Alon on the sim, priced at 20L each.

Find all 5 pieces of each, and you get the whole outfit for 100L! (Hint: They want to you to check out the many OTHER vendors on Isle RFyre.. so they’ve hidden the pieces in our market areas!)

The hunt goes on from now until November 25, so get down there and get huntin’.

I reported a while back, here and here, that Linden Lab was trying to make a free life difficult to impossible in Second Life. They’ve eliminated most forms of gambling, eliminated almost all camping, and now they are effectively eliminating most freebies and cheapies being offered on XStreet SL.

Miranda Milestone, of Milestone Creations, sent this notice out to her subscribers:

Hello,

When I came home from work today I was looking forward to being able to spend a few hours on Second Life in order to create some new items and chat with friends. But instead I logged on to the following notecard I got in the Free*Style group:

“Linden Lab is killing freebies on xstreet. There is a survey running on this topic you might be interested in voting on to express your opinion:

http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2009/11/survey-on-xstreetsl-freebies-policy.html

Here is the blog announcement which also covers the mandatory monthly listing fees for anything on xstreet (important if you are a merchant):

https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/commerce/blog/2009/11/18/roadmap–managing-freebies-on-xstreet-sl

And the Commerce Forums disussion:

https://blogs.secondlife.com/message/38291#38291

Of course thare are additional discussions not under Linden Lab control at other SL related forums too.”

I brought this up to the Fabfree admin a few months ago, when camping was being sharply curtailed, because I could see where this was headed. I was told that freebies and dollarbies would never be eliminated because SL couldn’t control what price a shop owner or designer set for their goods.

Well, maybe LL can’t control the price, but they can “tax” the hell out of low priced goods to the point where it makes no sense for shop owners and designers to offer dollarbies or freebies anymore. If Linden Labs is already taking this route on XStreet SL, can a similar policy on the grid be far behind?

Linden Labs would like us all to be paid members. Freebies, dollarbies, camping, and gambling allow a great number of SL users to have free accounts, and to live our Second Lives quite well on those free accounts. We can own businesses on free accounts (look for this to change in the future) and to own land on free accounts (this will likely change too), both of which allow us to make a SL living without having to own a paid account.

Thank you to Freestyle for sending this information out to their group members, and thank you Miranda for passing this important information on to your group members.

To this end, I have closed my XStreet SL shop. Art from my gallery and products from [M&K] Hidden Treasures can now be purchased only in world.

There is so much good stuff in this post; finds from Wishbox, Prim & Pixel Paradise, Blacklace @ Winterstock, and mijn.t.

I’ve been trying for a MM prize from Wishbox for forever. I was late slapping it, or MM was down — it was always something! But I am so glad that I was persistent, because this well-crafted Blue Loli dress is so cute. And look, it goes so well with the 10L$ Lolita Ankle Boots from RSS.

The pretty  Ruby Royal Gown (which comes with shoes!) is from Prim & Pixel Paradise, while the red Pepe is my Cat body suit top and  and and red Vintage Monday pants are from mijn.t. Mr. frosty, looking on, can’t decide which he likes better.

You can strike a seductive pose on the Debutante Chaise, from Diesel Works. The chaise comes in a variety of colours, and has a cool photographer’s model. And Shang looks festive in her lingerie from Blacklace, which was a gift at the Winterstock location.

Sn@tch goodies, now appearing at Winterstock

Sn@tach has five bags of grungy goodness waiting for you at their temporary Winterstock shop.

Dance Creations has some value fashions for you that are, well, fashionable.

Good fashion at a good price? I like that!

Mix & Match designs and ____ from Dance Creations

Show above on the left are pieces from Dance Creation’s mix and match collection. These are inexpensive separates that coordinate with everything else in the mix and match collection. prices range from 50L$ to 25L$. The cute belt holding it all together is from Callie Cline.

If you like a look that you don’t have to pull together yourself, the Jazzy Ruched Dress (above right) comes in a package with both teal and green options.

It’s no secret that Secret Passion (above left) is a hot number, perfect for a night of dancing. The dress comes in three options: long, short, and salsa — which I’ve shown above.

Avove right I’ve shown more of the mix & match collection. There are so many outfit options with these versatile, interchangeable pieces.

Sharing floorspace with Dance creations is RSS. Right now there is a pair of Lolita Ankle Boots in Ocean for only 10L$, and a pair of cowboy boots for 10L$.
